"Hi there! My name is Michelle Peterson and I am an on-location, natural light photographer serving the Southern CA. area. My speciality is family photography and all that it invloves. I am the mother of 2 amazing little ones and an amazing supportive husband...they inspire me everyday and are the reason I found this passion of mine with photography in the first place. The most important thing to me is my own family so to be able to capture special moments for other families is an honor. My style is fun and light and I love to capture those "real moments." Here Traci tells us about her business:

Hi!  I am a portrait photographer based out of Goshen in Northern Indiana.  I specialize in newborn and child portraiture.  In addition to my photography business, I am also an elementary reading teacher.  I have the best of both worlds right now - I get to help children become better readers and take their pictures too!  :)  My business began in the spring of 2009, and it's been quite the journey.  Three years later, I have learned many lessons about being a business owner.  One of the biggest nuggets of knowledge I learned was to value myself and my work.  If I don't, who will?!  Through the thousand of photographs taken, I've found my heart belongs to newborn photography.  There's something just so magical about photographing their sleepy little souls.  And I especially enjoy when I get to accessorize the girlies with Little Keira’s Bows!  A BIG thank you to Little Keira's Bows for featuring me this week on her blog!

First of all, I’m honored to have been asked to be featured here. Thank you so much! I’m a natural-light photographer in Wilmington, NC . Yes, just minutes from the beach! I started out photographing friends and family which blossomed rather quickly into a full-time business. I photographed anything and everything trying to get a feel for my niche, but over the past year and a half I’ve been making a move to primarily maternity & newborn photography in addition to some kids & family.  I’m extremely excited that I just signed the lease on my first studio last week. We will be moving in there at the end of the month! My photography is very colorful and I rarely process a photo in black and white. Although I love the soft, earthy look of other photographers’ photos, I just can’t seem to process mine that way. Bright and colorful is “my thing” and I love it!

I feel so blessed to be able to do what I love and to have such a flexible schedule. My business schedule has allowed me to help out at my 9- year old son’s school, get to all of his ball games, help with our household finances, and do fun things together this summer!

I’m an on-location, natural light photographer based out of Goshen, IN, but serving the entire Michiana area. I started my business about 4 years ago and it has blossomed into more than I ever imagined it would. I found my true love and started focusing my business on maternity, births and newborns early 2011, but I do still photograph babies, children, families and seniors as my schedule permits.  My style is emotive, genuine, and detail-oriented, with a touch of whimsy. I love using color in my images of newborns, nature for maternity, and I love the dramatic look of black and white for my birth images. I’m so honored to be a featured photographer for Little Keira’s Bows. Thanks so much for having me, Kaye.

Hello!

   First off, let me just say that I am very humbled to be “featured”!  That others would take the time to read about my passion, is truly amazing.  How to describe my work… well I think it’s original but isn’t that a little Unoriginal of me to say? What I try to convey in my images is real, raw emotion.  I also think I’m an editor as much as I am photographer.  Taking a photo is the first step, turning it into Art is the next.   My favorite sessions are the ones with the most emotion; an expecting mommy, a couple in love, a child laughing… I love it all!

   I picked up a point and shoot three years ago and it was all down hill from there!  My life got taken over and I now understand the phrase “I breathe photography”!  The sky is the limit and I can’t wait to see where this road takes me.  Until then, thank you so much for wanting to learn a little more about me and my dreams.
